The problem with waiting until you're really depressed by rain, clouds, and cold is that by then it's hard to get up the energy to do anything about it. So it was with Nancy and me just a few short weeks ago. I wanted to show her Death Valley, which I had visited while in high school fifty years ago. The longer I waited to plan the trip, the harder it got to do it. But, at last, do it we did.
We left today for Ashland. It's hard to take photos while driving, but a serendipitous lunch with nephew Ryan and Kristina led to us driving right past where we lived in Portland over forty years ago. I posed by our front door— the same pose as in a photo Nancy took way back then, several lifetimes ago.
