Long Day's Journey Into Night

March 3, 2013

Today we set off for Death Valley.  Supremely confident in technology I put what i thought was the correct address for Stovepipe Wells, the location of our reservations for the next few nights, into my phone, and off we went.  The estimated driving time was only 6 ½ hours, which seemed a bit on the quick side, but who am I to question technology?  All through the day we drove on.  At last, as evening was rapidly approaching, Nancy announced we were almost there.  It didn't look right.  Finally, our phone said we had arrived.  That's when we stopped and I took my photo for the day.  Here it is and there we were.  Nowhere.

At least we still had cell phone service.  I reprogrammed the phone, paying more attention this time, and we soldiered on.  Eventually, two hours and two mountain passes later, we arrived.
